Coverage Litigation/Analysis

Often, our clients are called upon to render coverage opinions on first-party issues. These issues include, but are not limited to, collapse, wind-driven rain, wear and tear, hidden decay, flooding, business interruption, and extra expense issues. Many of these “coverage” issues are fact sensitive, requiring a clarification. Consequently, in cases such as those involving fires, an Examination Under Oath is required. Once a fact pattern is crystallized, then research is performed. Historically, it has been our approach to render coverage opinions which are not equivocal and assert the “most likely” outcome.

This class of litigation encompasses a large spectrum of cases, inclusive of premises liability, contract or indemnification, negligence claims, product liability claims, lease issues, breach of contract, and nuisance claims. Municipal and Public Entity Litigation

Crawford Law Firms has, for years, been a firm that has been approved by the Camden County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund, and accordingly has handled numerous cases on behalf of CCMJIF asserting affirmative defenses relative to any and all tort claims acts or municipal and public entity defenses. In these cases, it is not uncommon to quickly develop a fact pattern which will allow for a dismissal owing to plaintiff’s failure to comply with the procedural requirements or a Motion for Summary Judgment owing to the tort claim defenses.
